"FOE" TEASER FOR HALO INFINITE: Trailer Breakdown and more!

The newest teaser revealed on the official Halo YouTube channels has given out the suggestion that the Banished may be an enemy faction to be fought against in the upcoming entry in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite. The Banished are a mercenary organization and splinter faction that rebelled against the Covenant Empire and rose to power after the conclusion of the Human-Covenant War. The organization is led by the Jiralhanae (Brute) warlord Atriox.

This teaser might be hinting at the return of the Brutes, as well as hint at many new types of enemies that may be encountered in Infinite, similar to Halo Wars 2, where the Banished were first introduced. Have a look at the trailer here:

Here's the full transcript of the clip:
The hour approaches. Forces occupy the ring. Within hours, it will be under our control. Humanity...will burn. Their brazen defiance will be all but a memory. No more Prophets...no more lies! We stand together! Brothers to the end. We are his will. We are his legacy. We are the Banished.
It seems that there was a conflict among the UNSC forces stationed on the Halo Ring (which many speculate to be Zeta Halo) and the Banished, and perhaps it is what the Pilot character (affectionately called 'Brohammer' as a reference to FoeHammer from Halo: Combat Evolved) from the E3 2019 "Discover Hope" trailer talked about. Was this the very conflict that destroyed the Halo ring shown in the start of that trailer?

It may also give us the answer to why the marines (which may also be other UNSC forces) shown in the E3 2018 Announcement Trailer for the game were injured, as well as give us thoughts to who battled against the UNSC forces leading to the downed Pelican and the other shots of the state of decay.

A speculation also rises from the line "We are his will. We are his legacy". This is most likely referring to Atriox, but raises the question given the word 'legacy'. Is Atriox dead by the time Halo Infinite happens in the timeline?

The video was uploaded and posted to the many social media outlets of the official Halo accounts. While some fans initially give suspicion that this may be about Halo Wars 3, we at the DXR Script can point out to two reasons this may not be the case:

Firstly, based on the voice in the clip, the voice mentions that "forces control the ring," but that "within hours, it will be under our control." Thus, very likely confirming it is taking place indeed on a Halo Ring, rather than the Ark. It is likely that Atriox is not the voice talking, as his voice is quite different.

Secondly, the video is placed under the "Halo Infinite" playlist in the official channel.

This teaser made fans of the franchise, including us at the DXR Script quite happy, as many of the fans have wanted the content and lore of the Halo Wars series to be more inclusive within the main games, and it seems that 343 industries are finally doing it, ever since that Guardian reveal at the end of Halo Wars 2. As one Halo fan put it:

NO MORE PROPHETS, NO MORE LIES, NO MORE MEGA BLOX LEAKS!

It may also very well be the start of the marketing campaign for the game, and end the content and information drought that has plagued the game. Halo Infinite will be shown at Microsoft's upcoming July event, and to quote Cortana:

"If I still had fingers they'd be crossed!"

  1. I suppose Xbox Series X will make the game more enhanced in terms of Graphics. Wish Halo had a nice mobile version. All hail Master Chief!
