5 More Iconic Halo OSTs

Some time ago we hit you with a post on Halo OSTs, which was fair enough. Later however, I realized  although they were pretty amazing, they were handpicked among many. I, being a fan of the Original Trilogy, decided to make a list of some tracks that you’ll instantly recognize that its Halo. This is partly due to the fact that legendary composer Martin O’ Donnell made some of these as a homage to the tracks in the older games.

I’m Alan Black, the lead writer and editor of The Draxanderis Scripture, so without waiting further, lets go.

5. Halo CE: Main Theme

This track has the classic ancient feeing to it, and Marty himself said that when searching for something ancient, he thought, “Hey, monks sound ancient” and that’s how this track that would be the signature of Halo, came into being. Its amazing and pleasant to the ears, and always brings back memories to cherish.

4. Halo 2 Anniversary: Skyline
You might recognize this from the beginning of Halo 2, when Sargent Johnson makes his iconic “Regret” dialogue. It shows what the UNSC is all about (Well, at least on the outside. The Track is simply icONIc though).
Its not that long either, but the flutes in this really play out great, along with the violin.

3. Halo 2: Heretic, Hero

This is one track that really does capture the militaristic side of Halo with the beat, but also just Halo- with that feeling of ancientness, and doing a dangerous job in an exciting way.

2. Flawed Legacy/ Perchance to Dream

The Seirra 117 of Halo 3 doesn’t sound as exciting as the way these two do. Personally, this is one of my most favourite tracks during playing the game, sneaking upto those sleeping grunts, and…. THWACK!
This Feels So Right.

This feels so epic, and I’m not entirely sure how this made me feel like a spirit, haunting the Aliens, the Covenant. A demon, as they say.

1.  Halo 3: Behold A Pale Horse

This one, it feels like Marty just took all the great parts from multiple tracks, and just mixed it all together, in a very good way. This plays out when the Forward Onto Dawn lands on the Ark to give us those scorpion tanks. This six minute track, around the three minute part changes its tunes, to that of fear and uncertainity, then to the type of dreamy music- and let me just say this, Marty should have been paid three times the amount he was paid for these games. Around the end too, it changes its pace, and this is just a Masterpiece of an OST.
Thank You For Reading!

I hope you liked this post, if you liked this, be sure to share this post with other long gone players. Do let me know if you would like to see more ‘ICONIC’ tracks from video games, all written by just me.
Also, if you did not listen to Halo OSTs, dude- did you even Halo?
